I recently bought some PLA from amazon, it was pretty damn good PLA. Had very good results with it. So I wanted to buy more, but the product was sold out. And so I bought some other cheap filament.

And now I have terrible results, I have read this has to do with the width of the filament any divations in this and you get an ugly finish.

Now I am looking in NL for better filament and found 3 producers:

I now have bought asa from Formfutura, getting it this evening.


I see a lot of vids on youtube about this subject and most filament I cannot buy here or are not in stock or way to expensive.


So I really would want to know any experience from other users on these companies or others.


The bad filament that I had was White PLA from Geeetech. The good filament was Yanbex from amazon. I see it is back in stock!

I have always used filaments from these guys and never had a problem. I use it on a Ultimaker.

What printer do you have? Innofil3d is also really good and never gave me bad prints.

I mostly use Inland PLA, which I get from a USA supplier called Micro Center.  I have had good luck with it and it's inexpensive.  Not sure if there is a European source for it.


From a quick check, it appears that Yanbex filament is not sold in the United States, unfortunately.

I like to to try many cheap alternatives but I keep seem to get back to Hatchbox every time I need something trouble free.


I have only used their ABS and PLA. I can't speak for any of their other materials.

About the ASA, I can print it pretty well with a good build surface. I have some warping by thin walls. But mostly the worst about it is the color of the filament it is not white, it is natural.

I have a cheap modified Geeetech, and I am rebuilding my K8200 velleman from scratch.

I just came across this thread and though I would give my two cents.

I use 1.75mm PLA Pro Series and PET Pro Series filaments from Matterhackers.com with great results and there prices are reasonable when you consider the quality and fast free shipping.

I use several filaments from Matterhackers - its nice to shop their supply because the don't seem to offer any "bad" products -


I think that almost anything that they are selling, they are also running in their machines and are happy with


I have always done well with Taulman filaments but they are a bit pricy.
