Any disadvantages yet, say with small details or sharp corners?

I'm doing resin prints mostly so Im used to much smoother but I hope to get my FDM up and running in a few months. ty

I understand that if you print in ABS, you can put the item into a case with Acetone. The Acetone fumes will soften and smooth the finish. I've never printed with ABS as it is supposed to need a ventilation system, which PETG and PLA do not need.

Ironing doesn't take care of the layer lines on the sides, only works for the top surfaces. Polymaker has a filament called Polysmooth, which is a PVB plastic and dissolves with alcohol. They sell a ~400 dollar alcohol diffuser as their polisher but you can either make your own (design on thingiverse) or take a swab and do it by hand. The filament is like 45/kg and prints really easy, similar to PLA, I use it at work for making smooth shiny prints that I can't do as easily with my resin printer. ABS on the other hand is smelly and harder to print, but can be cheaper per kilo and stronger, but it's up to what properties you want

Ironing is only for what cura slices as "top" surfaces, but it doesn't help for the sides. That's where you decrease layer height, where most people have the standard 0.4mm nozzles can only go down to 0.1mm layer heights. Look at my other reply to this thread for a full explanation. And for 3D models, I don't see much here available for getting a model commissioned, you can probably try posting a request thread, but I would suggest checking both Thingiverse and Sketchfab for what you need and/or request specific people make something for you that make models similar to what you're looking for.

You can use UV resin in cases to smoothen. I'm not yet fully experienced in how this holds to the PLA for instance under stress (not hammering of course or something) slight bending etc
