I’m intrigued by your proposal. I use Autodesk Inventor pro primarily for machine design. However, as you can see from some of my models on GrabCAD I’ve dabbled in some designs that may be beneficial. I have a good amount of experience with CNC so I understand the process from start to finish. I’ve built and flown many RC aircraft over the last 45 years. Mostly internal combustion powered airplanes and helis. I would consider myself an advanced builder but only an average flyer.
The model you propose seems to be designed more for fantasy and fiction rather than airworthiness. While it would be rather easy to select an airfoil and CG location, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be aerodynamically stable. Has this ever been attempted or have any aerodynamic studies been done? Why do you want to model this particular aircraft?
How much documentation do you have? Hopefully you have, or can generate, some detailed cross sections that can be converted to 3D.
I generally finish a design down to the last fastener before starting the fabrication of the first part. How do you envision the design process? Develop the bare minimum for core generation or flesh it all out complete?
I work full time so would have limited time to invest. I’m not looking for financial reward nor any other type of compensation. I’m looking for taking part in a project where the reward is the successful completion of the project itself. There are other sometimes intangible benefits gained along the way such as increased knowledge and new friends. Obviously if the the finished design is marketed or the model kitted I would expect reasonable compensation.
What is your timeframe? How committed are you to completing this? Have you completed similar projects? Do you foresee any scenarios where it would be in our best interest to abandon this project or redirect our efforts.
An obvious issue is that we are on opposite sides of the globe. That may not be much of an issue during development but it will certainly be difficult to share in the final outcome. Then again maybe it’s time for a return trip to Australia.
