I hope everyone is protected from COVID. For DfAM, lattice structure design is very important subject in order to design lightweight end used parts that can be manufactured using AM. PA12 is one of the most widely used polymer material being used for sls, MJF and similar processes; however, there is no standard mechanical properties available in literature. Due to several non-linearities including materials non-linearity, geometric nonlinearity etc., it is really challenging to simulate these lattice structures either strut based or beam based. Another issue is defining the contact between structure and rigid plates on both ends (in case of compression test). Another challenge is to simulate failure behavior of lattice structure using specific material failure models. For PA12, there is no recommended failure model.

In this group, we have many experts, so I am opening this really important discussion topic and hoping that all of us would share related expertise, any related case anyone has done already etc. Thanks
