I give up. Can someone walk me through the last 'Shell' feature? I'm guessing it's some kind of advanced 'multi-thickness' method. Can't figure it out . . . won't be able to sleep tonight :)
Just a regular Shell feature to remove all the unwanted material and make the holes at the same time:
Nowww I get it. So easy when you know how. I had created two tubes instead of two cylinders. I didn't realize that Shell had such powers.
An alternative solution uses the Intersect command.
A co-worker of mine came up with the solution today. It's a great alternative as it allows for a model without a uniform wall thickness.
A side effect is having two solid bodies but that isn't usually an issue in these challenges:
