I have some experience in my pocket doing spoilers for cars through 3d scanning (i have use ordinary cnc machine for manual scan – that was in 1999) and then redesigning all those trough improving design – I have use style to connect few points and then make whole area sold with very nice surface – I have work on “few” things like yachts and motorboats (up to 13 meters in length) also using style and connect points (frames) plus some specific like aircraft parts first in design department than in manufacturing control where i control tolerances after every manufacturing process with specific measuring tools because tolerances have been in microns – Than i have also use DEA CMM (7 meters long) for measuring and control of airframes for Boeing 747 (IAI Bedek group)
By profession i am in mechanical field with specialisation for 3d modelling and CNC production but i mainly work in design – I start using PTC 1995 under Win NT (3.51 and then 4.0 and later Win 2000) – Then it was Proengineer and now it is Creo but since big pause i start again using it and nothing changed too much from old times :)
If you need somebody who will look and design and try to improve stuff that’s me – Maybe i am little rusty because i don’t use CRE every day but up to 2005 i have work in PTC at least 20.000 working hours because i have use it for design and modelling of my all work
I can surely tell you that i can’t do preparation for CNC but i have people around me which can do that but is it very problematic to do that if you don’t have CNC machine beside to test code and to read all about that machine – If somebody else will do that regarding some specific machine than you only need designer regarding making design – If you want you can explain little more regarding your request or you can contact me personally – This is my first message here and i am not familiar with all possibilities of this web community! I have lead lot of this kind of groups and forums and i have been behind organizing international competitions for PTC community on MCAD central but that was at least 15 years ago – I hope so i don’t break any rules regarding communication!
I've been looking for similar info for a while. If you haven't done so already, check out Inspire Automotive on Youtube. He's supposed to be putting out an in-depth (paid) tutorial that covers the entire process.
