I need to change the position of part without disturbing the linked drawing.
I need to rotate the model by 180degree, but if I changed in 3D, the drawing linked with it get updated and the whole drawing become mesh.
it there any tricks to get this resolved, as i have 12 major components drawing and each component took more than 8hrs of drawing work.
I can even lock the views as well as time to time i also have to make small changes in 3d also.
Thanks in advance.
please suggest your ideas.
Leave the part where is it, relative to the axis system.
Change the parts position in the assembly, where it's instanced with other parts, by mating the part with assembly constraints.
Thanks Mr. Jack for your valuable reply.
But here I have to make the part positioned as per assembly UCS so that while inserting the component in assembly, it directly assembled in their respective position.
That's why i am changing the part position, but here the main problem is if I changed the part position then the drawing views linked with it get disturb.
If you want to rotate the model alone, you can take the base model in the assembly and create a new axis system (according to the new orientation that you require) in the part design workbench. Then while placing the base model in the assembly space, use the new axis system to place it.
Thanks Mr Mariuspop,
But I already mentioned above that i have to update the model time to time as per the requirement, so I can't lock the views.
Thanks Mr. Lionel
I will try with this method and check whether it will work or not.
Than, I must confess that I don't really understand the whole issue.
So let me know if I get it right,
You have a part that you have to reposition inside an assembly. Than for each position of the same part you need a new drawing.
Is that correct?
If that's the case, than
A.
Probably you would need to start all over in order to apply this one.
B.
Create a macro that would use a loop to update a drawing view only when the part has a specific position inside the assembly.
Sorry, you didn't get my question.
But here the main problem is when i changed the part orientation according to actual position in Assembly state (using translate/ Rotate) , drawing get updated and the views also get oriented/changed.
I can't lock the views also as 3D is modified time to time.
I can't make the fresh drawing again as there 12 major components drawing.
For some reason I thought that you've got to update the whole assy drawings.
There is no reason to change the orientation in Part design.
You could automate the orientation inside the assy using a macro, but Lionel's solution should work as well.
Good luck.
Yes.macro is the solution of all manual process. But for now I am in the learning stage..I cant create that level of macro. If you have any refernce related to this work type macro..please share.
Here you have an example:

But, maybe you would want to start learning from scratch.

Good luck.
