If you want to open iges or stl in CATIA, you may in product add to assembly like existing part.
Hi Kishan,
It would help if you could show us a picture too.
Now,
You want to unfold a surface that comes from an IGES part?
If that's the case
You cannot unfold an IGES surface in CATIA unless is a simple ("no issues") surface.
Otherwise you would have to create the surface yourself from whatever data you have in the IGES part.
Hope that helps.
Hi,
You can open a iges part directly in Catia,
next, make an assembly off all patch
and you unfold your surface

hi the only things you can do with sheetmetal and surfaces, is a recognition, like this.
This your surface, for exemple
you set up your param of sheetmetal, thikness etc..
and you do a recognition with this tool
fold and below unfold

I use Sheet Metal to flatten out surfaces on Boat Hulls. This gives me the tool I need to do CNC routing of plywood. It works very well.
Above is the Deck of the Jinx I put on GrabCAD.
I will post the above Catia V5 R22 file in the near future if you want to see how it works. Look at the Jinx Model. Also, I made all of my data dumb (no history links) but it will work with links. The 3D Model sketch is not linked, hence the model will not update with a surface change.
