Most of the time whenever I work in catia V5 the feature definition error occurs in SHAFT command.
Please help me in this.
P.S. I am an amateur, need expertise.
review your profile, you have a line overlap or a line that is crossing the center axis.
be sure that you have a single edge in the profile the does not cross the axis,
What i feel is that u have done a closed figure and given shaft command...
* First thing u need to understand is that u can never revolute a closed figure along its axis...It can be revoluted only along the outermost edges..
* Second thing is that if the outermost edge of a closed figure is at an angle...then the entire closed figure can never be revoluted...(except if the revolution axis is taken along the top edge)
*Since in ur figure the outermost edge is at an angle the system will directly take into consideration the axis(which u can observe in the Axis Selection dialog box) and will give error...bcoz it cannot be revoluted..
*What u need to do is..u have to only sketch half part and give revolute...
*Take simple figures and analyze the tool u will understand...
But isnt that a closed figure that he has skteched??
your profile should look like this
top and bottom lines stoping at the axis
meh, there is more that can be done, with revolves and shafts
but do not cross the axis and have a clean profiles
True..But in this case the object is revolved along a different axis and not of its own..
Approach it in a different way then but it may take few more commands but will work without any problem circle and a PAD and one more pad and then a chamfer
Can you post a clear picture of the profile so that we can see whats the problem?
One more Doubt please!
When certain profile is drawn and sketch analysis is performed isolated profile (eg., line, curves) error occur. Even though the line is of same length and all the symmetries are present.
Like this one
Connection does not help either, neither fix
all these commands leads to overconstrained sketch and despite these no help.
Somebody please help.....
You cannot draw lines like that..the figure will be considered open..Isolate also means the same thing..That the line is left alone...It doesn't matter how many constraints u give..when the figure itself is not closed one..
