Hi, Don't mind the features on the surface make only the surface using the surface module and thicken it using the solid module and add the features in it. It is the procedure.

Hi Paul, first, why do you need a solid?, and if you really need a solid you have a close surface, so you just do a solid with this surface with command

If this don't work you must explode your surface and improve it then you make a single surface and you try another time the solid command.

Hi Paul, you use the disassemble function

you have 2 solutions:

1.The file should be in stp.- or cgr. format and then it will be shown in Catia in 3d Solid Form

2.You can also convert the current file from Surface to Solid. For this purpose, the model must be completely flawless. This means without overlapping surface or without holes. Then you have to join all the surface and make the model solid using close Surface command.

If using the Close Surface command that Sylvain suggested does not work, then your surface likely has a tiny gap somewhere. Close Surface requires a fully closed volume to convert a surface to a solid. If it doesn't work, use the Boundary tool under the GSD workbench to find any gaps that need to be repaired.

Dougs method is the best way to go, check for openings using Boundary tool. Depending on where surface gap is you could either heal it and set you deviation setting to .1mm (max). Or use the boundary that was created and use the Fill command (granted its a flat surface) and Join it to the rest. Then you should run the boundary test again, it will error out telling you there are no holes found, at that point you can Close the surface into a solid.
