Sure project a standardized battery standard that has best characteristics in rechargeability, maintainability and sustainability is the technological challenge that every car and motorbike builder has to face up.

Lithium gel agm graphene: every technology go improving the pre-existing art-state of battery for durability, resistance, ligtness.

But contains lot of rare metals and is hightly polluting..

I don't think they can earn anything from producing the same battery at the same price....

Actually i think that they can ear a LOT making a standardized battery ! Just look at the typical batteries that we use today that are all standardized. By creating a common standard volumetric envelope that everyone (especially the BIG manufacturers) can follow, it makes it easier for adoption and less chaotic for even the smaller players.

The PC computing market took over a decade for battling standards to finally come into ubiquitous standards that we take for granted today. But even USB cables are a pain if you don't have the matching type. Or like charging cables from Apple vs Samsung.

Its very important that that for less chaotic technology changes, that people will trust the technology that it will live beyond 2 years before being replaced and quickly obsoleted. A $300 cell phone is no problem if it is obsoleted in 2 years, but not a $60K car or even a $15K motorcycle.

So for this reason its critical for the adoption of battery standards that will last for at least a decade before changes. Its kinda like buying a LCD or plasma TV 15 years ago when they were $10K and people were worrying about whether or not it would be useful over time; or even if the color would last.

With the fast pace change of global warming, climate change, technology shifts, and the move to electrification of many things, it critical that standards are chosen wisely and with deep future fore-thought.

The battery is the FIRST electrical device and has yet to achieve the major technical advancement of the early light bulb (5% efficient) to white LED (95% efficient). Its today's holy grail of technology achievement such that we might be able to charge out devices once a week or once a month in the future. We are just not there yet !
