Don't quite understand why would you have two wheels up front and one in the rear? Either it will be a complicated design to reduce the drag.

One rationale behind such a design would be better less turning radius which you could achieve by having coupling can disengage for two rear wheels or having two hub-wheel type motors and controlling the current via steering mechanisms.

This idea arose spontaneously, seeing the development of the current three-wheeled vehicle mode that began to reappear. Except that in my country Indonesia tricycle vehicle which in paddle (named BECAK) still preserved as public transportation. There is the thought of some people to change the vehicle using electric drive technology.

Therefore I am interested in experimenting, researching and developing this type of vehicle with a tricycle.

About wheels selection I do not want to use a wide wheel that has a large frictional force. But will utilize the wheels of two-wheeled motorcycles in the market. So this vehicle is relatively not too big.

To realize this idea I want to start with a simple experimental step, which is to design the vehicle chassis, build, and try the ability of the driving motor. I will try a hub wheel drive of china product with 4KW capacity which I already have.

Unfortunately the regulations in my country limit to import Li-Ion or Li-Po battery with a large capacity, this is another obstacle to carrying out this experiment.

First thing i can say about after watching the design is that the place where chasis is connecting to the front axil part is narrow which would cause torsion in the chassis.

But i can't be sure as i don't have the assembly file.

Hi Jitesh Kumar thank you for joining us. The design is incomplete, still in design and unfinished, and is currently a dead-end idea.

Mechanical parts of the front suspension are still confused, are thinking to decide how the mechanical system to be simple, easy to fabricate manually, but also light weight.

Great ideas. I saw one tadpole design some time ago where the front wheels actually tilted into the turns as well as turned. It was simple and effective. Has anyone else seen that? Would that be of interest?

Ok thanks Zephyr ...... the front wheel suspension structure like that makes the vehicle more stable and not easy to slip. But I am not sure if it is effective enough for a wide vehicle (front seat side by side), Will it be effective enough? But of course have to try applied to drawing design first .... thank Zephyr

Yes in my opinion a three-wheeled vehicle like the one you got is better, because the static wheel's friction load is only one on the front, and the two rear wheels serve as an active driver. While the three-wheeled vehicle with active pushers only one behind, will bear the greater frictional load because of the friction that occurs to the two static wheels in front, of course this will rise when the vehicle turns. There may be opinions from other members ....

I can see the advantages of two drive wheels as opposed to one, but in my opinion, two wheels in front would make the vehicle more stable in turns. So, like everything else, it will be a design compromise, whichever way you decide to go. I think either way would be fun to develop and we should learn a lot along the way.

Thank you Jitesh Kumar Jee. Will not an e-rikshaw differential be heavy part and add weight? Mine is a single seater whereas e-rikshaw can carry 3 or more.

yes it might be but its the lightest in the market i guess which is easily available.

Or you can use the rickshaw mechanism in which only one rear wheel is powered.

Also, the width (length) of an e-rikshaw axle will be more than I need i.e. single seater. One rear wheel drive requires higher power than centrally driven and pushes the handle on on side. This is my idea which is plan use for a trike and front wheel drive with alternator attach in differential but this design not yet completed.
