Any ideas how to print full colour pictures and artwork directly on to PCB ????

Does anyone have any ideas on this topic ???
What is the best way to go about printing full colour pictures and or artwork directly on to PCB ????

I have experimented with techniques in this area but am looking for new or radical ideas.

I know most pcb packages have the ability to to import basic BMP for logo but I want to print real full colour overlays on pcb such as full colour flags etc...

Printing would have to account for Vias and pads etc...

I am not sure of your question.

Are you looking for a 3D printing solution ?

Are you looking for a PCB manufacturing solution (chemical or machine etching) solution ?

Or are you looking for a lamination solution (laminate an image onto a PCB) ?

The best way to do what you want is with a GIMP based vector graphics program. I use Inkscape, (https://inkscape.org/) a freeware program than can handle imports such as a PCB, which can act as a constraint for the graphic including vias, SMT pads, and anything else you don't want covered up. It can import a huge number of file extensions, and scale from the size of a postage stamp to a banner that covers the side of a building. Very useful program, but requires a steep learning curve.
For more information go here: https://inkscape.org/forums/ lots of useful information there.
