Grab CAD Community,


I am a newbie in CAD / Manufacturing but I have an idea that I would like to prototype. It is a relatively simple piece of furniture made out of metal but I would like to deliver exact specifications.


Any thoughts on the requirements that I would need to bring to a fabricator? I'd like to make this easy for them. Does anyone have content to share on best practices?

You should bring the type of materials it is made of, all the dimensions and tolerances of all the parts.

Metal fabricating is an art as well as a science. Tabs and Slots, radius bends, metal thickness and tolerances. The end design has to be broken down into "cut" shapes both flat and tubular. I have a lot of experience in taking "ideas" and turning them into shapes that can be welded and assembled.
