I haven’t witnessed this spamming issue first hand as regards people offering services, but since using this site to give rather than to take, I noticed more on the discussions front. I have seen some strange posts ... watch HD movies etc ? Bizarre ???

If spamming for financial gain, or posting just non relevant cr*p is reported ... I guess state it’s against the code of conduct for the site.. if it continues, warn that their accounts will be suspended ... based on their email address, so they have to set up a new one if they were to try again under a different name.

I think I have an idea to resolve such kind of spams. First of all active and/or popular persons should be given an verification sign (tick mark next to their name). Once spam was found out, these verified members can straight away delete spam model, tutorials etc., These models or tutorial will remain hidden for say 24 hours, within the stipulated time corresponding owners will have chance to claim that such model/ tutorial is not spam. If such appeal is proved to be correct, a warning will be given to such verified member. Crossing 3 working may lead to removal of verification sign.

I think this method is good as we don't have to wait for moderators or website to remove, we (verified members) can remove them immediately.

Hope this method takes time and this is my point to reduce such kind of activities.

The problem is that the GrabCad staff should come up with a solution or a proposal which at the moment doesn't seem to be happening on worked on.

I hope there surrounding will be dreadful due to COVID 19. Let's give time to get everything to settle

There has been a massive spamming against GrabCAD recently and we have been already working on improving the system. For each spam content you see, there are a lot more spam contents that area already detected, blocked and hidden from the users.

When you see a spam content, especially the ones that are around for some time, you can post a link here, send a message to us or message to me. This will help us on recognizing and blocking.

Great to hear suggestions to combat this thing.

CADcloud is highlighting a issue that runs deeper and I sense the rightly frustration.

Is the Community part of GrabCAD being actively managed or has its purpose been established to the point its been left to automated services ?

Statasys are pretty big and the aspects of GrabCAD which have challenges seems to be active, although my efforts to contact To ask them a question them fell on deaf ears.

Is there anyone in the echelons of GrabCAD management who can acknowledge the issue and say they are looking at it ? I sense it not a priority for one reason or another.

Well, after all that ... it looks like the issues are being looked at after all.

Yes, I can say that all the messages and concerns posted, especially on this group (Community User Group) is being read by multiple staff members from different departments -at different times, because we are on different time zones- and are elevated to the right department/people when needed.

And yes, Community part of GrabCAD is still being actively maintained. There might have been some disruptions caused by global health crisis and some staff change, and we are working hard to keep and improve the quality.

I rarely visit GC anymore. Got tired of sea of spam. No longer productive to fish thru the nonsense. I base my comment on the eMails I get notifying me of new posts. When I first found it many years ago, I thought I was in heaven. That feeling went away a good while back. I'm a taker more than a giver. I don't have that much to contribute. I'm not alone. Not every member of GC has a PhD in CADgineering.

Well its good to hear you are all OK, However I think some more aggressive action should be taken in my mind we should remove some Groups that are not really GrabCad ie Freelancers & Job opportunity s this is not GrabCad we are about free models and advice not a Job market there are plenty of those sites on the Net (oh but wait you have pay for those? )

This of course is my option but it is getting so annoying seeing people trying to take advantage over other members.

Thanks. But when I said, "I base my comment on the eMails I get notifying me of new posts." I did not mean the eMails were spam. I meant I only looked at eMails - hardly ever visiteed the actual post. The eMails themselves (many of them) clearly indicated the actual post would be spam. They might as well have said, "Take a moment out of your day to log in to GC site 'n look at mty spammty post there."

I know Yasin has been doing a great job in answering questions in my absence but i wanted to put my two cents in this post. We have been working hard to combat spam especially with the recent spam attacks in the past few weeks. We have not lost our way, we are trying our best to make sure that you are having a great experience. Reason why we need your reports so we can create systems to combat these this type of content. Reason why we have these groups so you can post your discussions so its in our faces so myself and the team can know what is going on that we may have missed.

I want GrabCAD to be one of the best communities where people don't have to worry about spam and can upload and connect with other users are like-minded on a topic that they love.

My model has been stolen by another member ON the site, comments made by him boasting about getting likes were removed yet my stolen model is still up.

So does GC now not care for this issue anymore as they need all the content they can get even if models are re-uploaded by other members?

Yep aware of all that some of my models have been copied over the years and that is a risk you take.

Yet to have them STOLEN off GrabCad and then reposed on GrabCad is new low when the "staff" seem to do nothing. last time the situation was addressed in hours, now days have gone past and nothing.
