I actually wanted to know the use of "Comments left", especially after noticing that it counts the comments I've left, not those left to me!

As for new values, I'd suggest "Upvoted Answers", which is much more useful than plain "Answers"...

"Models Downloaded" mightn't be that useful, especially for users like me that "Never download a model you can model yourself", but I don't mind it.

Upvoted answers is a great example to add.

I can't claim any of the statistics are "useful". They are just an interesting component of the site, and allow a small window to how different people interact with the site.

I for example am not following anyone. I didn't see a point since it didn't work how I anticipated. Now I can't figure out how to follow someone. I've looked for two days to figure it out :)

Regarding comments, it would be interesting to correlate comments left with GrabCAD score. dea has left over 31,000 comments. I have a feeling that leaving comments on models results in more likes on your own models. I mentioned that possibility in my tutorial on GrabCAD Scores. But, dea has great models too, so those clearly drive a score higher too.

G'Day FredSWUG ; The follow button is on an individuals engineer page. These pages are quite interesting at times as you can see what the particular engineers likes are, Their own model collection, whom they follow as well as other statistics which gives a better idea of how active & contributing they are. As per your tutorial on GRABCAD scoring, I find that active members tend to support other active members with likes due to the lob sided scaling. For myself it has averaged out to 1 like per 15 downloads of my models. I would like to see the number of downloads a member has done as this could be reviewed by all against likes given & models provided from individuals which would surely show the non civically responsible member. Admittedly the follow function seems to be static but it does show the community how you are esteemed by your peers in the number of followers you have. It might be nice to be given a notification when someone you follow has uploaded a new model but then that could be overloading as well

I just figured out the issue. An ad-blocker running in Firefox is/was stripping out the huge red follow button.

I knew it couldn't be that hard to follow someone. I was looking everywhere.

Could you tell us which adblocker caused the issue? We'd like to make sure our site works with adblockers both disabled and enabled – even though we do not display ads, many of our users browse the site with adblockers enabled (myself included).

As far as more statistics, we'll see – as of now, we unfortunately have no plans of adding any more stats to profile, but if there's sufficient demand from our users and good reasons to add more, we can consider adding some in the future.

Disabling Adblock Plus (in FireFox) caused the Follow button to reappear. It appears to be linked to the Adblock Plus setting titled Block Social Media Icon Tracking. Turning that specific option off causes the Follow button to return.

I can't think of any good reasons to add more statistics beyond general interest in how other users interact with the site. There used to be a statistic in the Engineers section which showed the number of answers posted in the Question section. When it disappeared, I got curious about other stats that may exist.

Thanks so much for the detailed description! We'll see what we can do; as far as I know that button should not have anything to do with social media tracking – it is blocked as a side-effect.

I thought of another handy stat to have on the profile page:

Last Seen/logged in: yyyy:mm:dd

This is handy because if an engineer has not been seen in years, there is little reason to send them a message asking about one of their models.
