I think most of us can agree that if a person designs something of value, in most cases taking tens, hundreds or even thousands of hours they should at least have the opportunity to get a tip, or the opportunity to receive a donation from a grateful downloader for their hard work and effort.

That is unless you condone online abuse culture bordering on systematic slavery.

Virtually all modern sharing upload platforms add a tip or donate designer button as they realise designers can’t survive on fresh air.

Why does Grabcad / Stratasys believe they should charge for their design engineering and products but it is so wrong for anyone else to even receive so much as a tip or charge for a product?
