GrabCAD Groups Feedback

Fair idea. Bold indeed. But then again with this implementation, we will be drifting away from the idea of GrabCAD and moving in the direction of CGTraders or the likes.

On the other side, it has been mentioned several times that many good models here are stolen and sold on other sites, so why not here? Thin line but a fair idea to ponder over.

I still like GradCAD for its community like atmosphere than turning into a commerical setup.

Let us see what others have to say about this. Maybe my perspective about this will change but for now I am leaning towards a no.

It would be sad if this goes same way like CGTrader.This is supposed to be a free site,a community with engineers that share their models,opinions and experience for free as an education for young engineers like me.

When it comes to money there are only 2 ways to make it and that is through challenge and job offers (when company personally invite you to some projects,it's rare,but it's not impossible).

Points,badges,downloads etc. are good way of earning some sort of "respect" here amog others and that's all.

Just my opinion :)

I'd say making GrabCAD more like other sites will take away from its unique value.

Do we then want other sites to be more like GrabCAD? Eventually all the CAD, and Library sites could be the same. We'll just change the color scheme of each site to keep from being confused.

I'm all for people making money on their designs, but GrabCAD is not the right place to sell stuff.

I agree when GrabCad was born this is what I loved about the site but recently Members are being told to contact the owner only to be told they have to pay to get the Files which in my eyes is a con!

Yea if you see any members or groups talking about exchanging money please let me know asap so I will be able to handle it. Like Igor said thats not allowed on GrabCAD.

What you are expecting is good according to you because its your talent and hard work but as far the way GrabCAD community is running its useful and encouraging for many young designers to develop their talent with help of professional designers who are very much kind to share their valuable models with other in a good motive and it will turn into a money making mind once the community turn into what you are expecting .

So, Let it be as it is and develop by helping other in a unique way which its already doing now.
