Do anybody know which standard is followed for designating Bolts and Nuts in metric e.g. M10X35 Zn 8.8. I am looking for standard which tells us how size, coatings and property class is specified in the drawings.
By standard I meant BIS Bureau of Indian Standards. And I am looking for a documents which says how the bolts or nuts are designated in the technical drawing.
U can refer IS 1364-1, ISO 4042, and for Zn coating refer ISO 2081 , I am not sure which portion of this information is relevant , if it helps let me know.
vikas IS 1364-1,2,3,4,5,6 are about the dimensions of bolts and nut of Grade A & B, IS 1363-1,2,3 are about the dimensions of bolts and nuts of Grade C.
IS 1367-1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,12,13,14,17,19,20 are about tolerances on features, material, mechanical, physical properties, testing, performance requirements, defects, inspection procedure
11 (or ISO 4042) has a line explaining designation
16 (or ISO 8991) has detailed explanation of bolt designation
18 is about the packing of the bolts
