Can someone please share the blueprints of a jet engine, with dimensions and assembly criteria? If someone is having please do share. I need it for my final project.
Hello Leonardo, I did search for it but the thing is I want to make a CAD model of a jet engine and I do want all the parts with proper geometry and dimensions. Can you please help with that?
Hi shubham, do you mean you need all the parts to build into a jet engine?
I think a blueprint have all the parts together, so I think there will be no separate parts. Do you mean you need a blueprint of a jet engine that has multiple pieces that fit together?
Regards, leo
YESS, you got it. I want to make all the parts separately and then assemble them. So do you have any data or recommendations related to that?
Like many designs of complete machines, jet engine source drawings are proprietary and have had tremendous amounts of time and money invested in them. It is extremely unlikely you will find significant drawings of the parts and assemblies for any jet engine available anywhere. (I’ve tried!) The best you will do is find drawings that third parties have created by reverse engineering these jet engines based upon pictures and other available data. And I would expect if these reverse engineered drawings were very accurate, the original manufacturers would sue to have them removed from circulation because of the proprietary information they contain.
The Google link Leonardo provided is a great example of the best quality you can expect to find. In addition you can find many pictures of jet engines that can be digitized to create reference drawings.
I’ve been through this exercise myself. Spending many months and literally hundreds of hours reverse engineering a Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine for 3D printing. Unless you get really lucky and find a benevolent jet engine manufacturer willing to directly give you the drawings you are needing, you are not going to find anything.
Take a look at my model and you can see the results of my efforts. Download the PDF drawings to get a feel for my own reverse engineering efforts.
Addendum: In the case of the Trent 900, initial and subsequent design costs have come close to 1 billion dollars. This has come from a multitude of investors including government sources. Rolls-Royce owes it to their investors to jealousy guard all design information. They are not going to allow any design information to be leaked to the web. Most other jet engine manufacturers are going to treat their design information the same way. They are not going to allow it to be freely distributed for any reason. Not only do they want to protect the business of producing jet engines as a whole. But they also depend upon the replacement parts business. They aren’t going to give that away. They are going to do everything possible to protect and recoup their investment.
