Radio Frequency (RF) & Wireless Design

After reviewing the various antenna configurations and naming types, i have renamed this antenna from a Spiral to a Helical since a spiral is typically two elements and is most frequently changing shape, whereas a helical antenna maintains the same shape for the radiators.

In addition i have added more notes to show that this antenna form can be used for three configurations :

  1. Logarithmic Helical Biconical UWB Antenna (as shown)
  2. Logarithmic Biconical UWB Antenna (using copper sheets on both ends)
  3. Logarithmic Helical Interwoven Dipole UWB Antenna (two spiral elements interwoven)

So the experimenter has multiple choices for designs and configurations.

Also for higher frequencies where the portions of the cones are not used, the extended length of cones on both sides can be trimmed off to save space.
