It's just recently that I learned of the existence of software dedicated to rendering such as KeyShot, and I wonder what software could I use for technical animations?
A friend recommended to use a game engine like unity, but I would prefer to avoid learning a new programming language.
Also I have an example of what I'm looking for:
==Not an answer to your question==
That video could be made - probably is - in SolidWorks itself, using PhotoView 360 add-in for rendering.
What do you mean by "Technical Animation"?
The video you linked to can be made in nearly any rendering software, nothing complicated.
As for the best rendering softwares, these are the most common:
Thank you, I used those add-ins for my first projects. But I would rather use KeyShot because of the light customization.
Animations for engineering or product design models.
I always use : https://www.blender.org/
You can do anything you want, an there are a lot of you-tube tutorials about how to use it.
Blender is free, but still very, very good!
Then these are the best:
Max,
Can you post some details or examples of what Adobe Premier can add to the videos? I had been looking for a way to add some atmospheric dust floating in a scene, and i think Premiere might be a solution, but I'd like to hear more about other tasks you've found it useful for.
Thanks.
In the latest versions of Autodesk 3DS Max or Cinema 4D R20 you can import Solidworks or STEp files into in it
Cinema 4D has very good camera animtions and this is also possible in 3DS Max
Cinema 4D R20 is easy to use , less complicated than 3DS Max
It is also possible to make in Solidworks some animations and these animations you can directly import to Keyshot or Solidworks Visualize Conclusion lot's of possibilities
Thank you, I'll look into it
Unfortunately there is no professional 3D animation software to support 3D CAD Assemblies. All of those software are Polygon Base and you have to convert all of models to *.stl or *.Wrml or etc to import them into. Constraints was not supported at all and you have to animate all of parts manually.
I use Cinema 4D because it is the easiest software to learn and its power in commercial industry. I use Octane Render as third party render engine because it is so fast and use GPU for rendering.
Thank you
