Collaboration is an important milestone in every design team, so if you need a 3d model of some part that could be designed on rhino feel free to send a picture, 2d drawing or so and the community Will help you with that.
I have a model request. Although a little odd. I just need a human thumb. Preferably from a children's hand (not Genghis Khan). Clean and no texture needed (although a texture map and color is fine).
Can anyone give me a hand with this one?
Thanks,

Hi everyone!
I'm pretty new to the field and just begun to learn Rhino, but now I'm facing a problem that I need advice with.
I have a task of making a wooden globe with a 5-axis CNC-routing machine. For this project I would have to make a simple (but accurate) spherical world map. So far me and few of my colleagues haven't found a way how to do it. I'm working in a school where we have Rhino and AutoCAD, but the latter I haven't used and naturally prefer to learn more Rhino.
Can anyone help? Has anyone this sort of map in their libraries or knowledge how to make one. Is it possible with rhino to project a 2D map on a sphere, or is there other ways to do this?
All advice greatly appreciated.
Hello, Ville! It's nice you're asking for advice in this group.
As per my understanding of the description you provided, you need to model a world globe that will be manufactured in a 5 axis CNC, right?
Here I have one question, this should have all the conintents engraved or what is the scope in terms of detailing the model?
Answering to your questions, I think a World globe map is not a very frequently asked-to-do model. You can create a sphere in rhino and project a 2d drawing onto it using the command _pull/_project, or given the case you can create a surface and project it using _flowalongsrf.
Im not sure about how the CNC in your school works with Rhino but knowing that you can have a better approach on how to start modeling your task.
Rhino is a very capable 3d modelling software if you invest some time learing how to model there.
Let me know if you need something or if you have questions!

Hola Cesar muy interesante saludos pero estaba y quería aplicar lo que dices acá, pero no me funciona, esos comandos no los uso muy frecuentemente y se olvidad, de hecho algo complicados. Pero siempre interesado en aprender aún más bendiciones
