I believe soft robotics will redefine the assembly field of manufacturing in the years to come as they become more nimble and dexterous. There are tens of thousands of repetitive tasks preformed in plant every day that have little to no influence on the direct assembly of product; such tasks are quite tedious and take place in confined areas non-advantageous for most rigid pick and place robotics to safely preform in close proximity to operator. It's hard to say if the introduction of full soft robotics to manufacturing will yield good or bad results for plant workers as a whole but one thing's for sure change is coming.
