On previous occasions I have had difficulties when designing gears manually, using GEARTRAX has been easier and with an easy interface so I highly recommend them, you only need the data of the gear (perimeter diameter, number of teeth, width, external diameter , angle of teeth, etc,) and geartrax is linked to solidworks to design it automatically. if you do not have a license and want gears just tell me and send the technical information to help them

GEAR TRAX, is very complete, I leave an image with the list of gears that you can generate with this software.
at that place they ask serial no. and other details i want a free version not paid
https://grabcad.com/sunny.yadav-3
that is the free version is 10 days of test with your serial of SOLIDWORKS, I have the PRO version but it is cracked, but I do not know if I can publish it here in GRABCAD, or if it violates the rules of the community, let me investigate if possible, and I upload to a server to be able to publish it if possible.

Is Not Excatly new software, but is not part of solidworks, is completly independient , but work linked
Very nice Add-in, but it is considered as Drawing add-in for gears not Gear Design since there is no power in/out involved.
Yet it is indispensable for anyone need to draw a gear.
Several days ago I had commented to them the possibility of sharing this software with you (GEARTRAX), as I told you I did a little research, and I contacted a GRABCAD staff member, and I confirmed the policy of not publishing or share here in GRABCAD cracked or pirated software.
It would have been great to be able to share software but it would violate the politics of the community.
very nice software btw.. in case i have problem with drawing gear..
this software so helpful..
hi.. is it just only 10 days trial if we have solidwork serial code?
https://grabcad.com/jeffry.hidayat-1
In effect, with your solidworks serial, camnetics gives you 10 days maximum

do you use grabcad workbench? You can give me temporary access and upload the files you occupy, then you revoke my access, in the files there is the installation guide and any questions you tell me
I've tried to use this before on a design that I was working on, but it didn't have the ability to handle the particular situation that I have.
Maybe someone knows how to find a workaround for this.
What I was trying to do is a kind of a round plate, which would have gear teeth on the inner side of its perimeter, and a small gear at 90degrees below it, to drive it.
It's sort of like a spur gear, but not any of the possible arrangements geartrax proposes, so I couldn't get what I needed out of it.
Anyone has any ideas about that?
I drew up a quick ultra simplified representation of the situation, with a large round plate and a small angled spur gear to drive it from below (attached).
The type of small angled gear that I'd use looks like this one:
This small gear would not be metal probably, but rather be made by plastic injection, and would go on a DC motor with a 4mm axle.

While I understand what you want is to generate a gear with internal teeth, for that you have to select the option (internal gear) type of gear, check the image there is the option. GOOD LUCK
Would this work for a tiny angled spur gear like I posted a picture of?
Thanks

in the following days I have been trying to find some solution to your problem,
for now I have not managed GEARTRAX, I can do it,
for now the only suggestion I believe is that you first do the angled bevel gear and
try to create the gear with internal teeth externally or rather in context
to the bevel gear, for now it is the only suggestion if later I find a better solution you notice
This software is made by Camnetics and they make a complete suite which has Camtrax,Gearteq and Geartrax if you make gears ,pinions, cams etc etc its really worth having just open which one you want to use and fill the fields with all the info ie diameter, width, how many teeth and alot more then click make cad files and it will automatically open Solidworks and make your part or assembly its amazing to watch how quick it makes the sketches and extrudes, lofte etc and all perfect as in ready to be made,if its something you would use regular its not that much money for the time saved.
Will work with Solidworks,Autodesk Inventor and Solidedge, they may have added to that list by now...Solidworks has more plug ins than any other CAD program to make your life easier or quicker
First, geartrax is more of an external complement to solidworks, so you need to have it in the current version you have of solidworks, for example I have SW2020 and Geartrax 2020 for SW, if you try with another version other than the one you have it will not work,
Second, you only need to open geartrax, enter the type of gear and data to create it and select the CAD option, so that it can be modeled in SW either just a part or assembly, and it automatically opens SW and generates your part.
