What file format?

what is formet of the downloaded file from net.

so that file in .stl formet .they do not edit.

I once had a solid part, saved it in the format of the program i work with (Solidworks) and was able to cut off or add parts to it as any other model. Afterwards i could save it as a new solid again.

It's a patch of course and easier with straightforward models than organic shaped ones..
