I have an old Pico Path with Linatrol software for the love of me I cannot get the Linatrol software to properly read my models made on solidworks 2018 the Linatrol shows a proper toolpath however the Pico Path is not seeming to interpret the geometry hoping someone else has this specific software and could give me a little insight on how to get my flame cutter up and running.

When you do File - Save As, press the Option button and see what the options are set to. A lot of cutters have a hard time understanding spline outputs, so make sure it is set to polylines.

You'll likely have to experiment with all the options until finding one that works.

what's the deal with the version? Are they specific to flamecutters?

The DXF versions are not specific to any specific machine. It looks to me like they all correspond to release versions or AutoCAD.

I'm not sure what difference exists between them, but I'd try saving something simple with each of the options. You can then try each file on the flamecutter and see what works best.


Is there a manual, or website which deals specifically with that machine. Both may have details on the file requirements.

DXF files are not very complex, so hopefully one of these options will work.


A final option might be downloading a program like DraftSight and seeing if it will generate files that are read better.
