What SW version you use?

SW 2021

Try to change the import option, and select option import as solid or surface body

Still its not working

Try to open this file with ScanTo3D add-in

If it's 112 mb it will have a lot of details. I doubt you would be able to import this into Solidworks and be able to do anything with it.

Is it not possible to get a step file of the part?

Try with increasing RAM

You can import a Mesh file as a Solid, but it will take forever. To cross-section a high resolution Mesh file will take forever, and you won't be able to edit it or measure anything. There is a way to add some feature to a Mesh file if opened as a Solid, but it require several steps.

Yes, I already use this method but it saying due to bigger file size it not work, open with graphics body.

Exactly. Your file is way to large.

Hi ! Try to reduce the STL file size with Meshlab (free) or another one, then you will be able to import as solid body in SW.

why dont save the file as a part? it converts all the components in one only part

same problem with me I'm using Solidworks 2021. but stl file open in some working on it but I'm saving the file Solidworks doesn't save and restart Solidworks.

You could bring it into Blender then break it into smaller parts and then export as IGS.
