I love designing things in solid works but I don't have the imagination to come up with an idea of what to print by myself.
Engineering and product design is a way to use something material to solve a problem. Do you have any problems to solve? Do you have hobbies? Are there tools or jigs you could use in your shop if you have a shop.
Take a moment and observe your surroundings; perhaps you'll find something you want to design?
Check this out, I consolidated some drawings for anyone who want to learn how to model.

Good luck
Really???
then I am your design angel ;)
I imagine, think, calculate and design so many things for myself, for selling, and for my company.
And I will really glad to cooperate with an interested person.
If you want this, please send me a message in my grabcad inbox.
thank you for the offer but I don't think that I'm skilled enough to do company work yet. maybe when I become better and you still are willing then I would love to help out.
Don't worry. you made me remember my first job on Solidworks :)
I will help you. And of course, a company has very easy jobs and very hard jobs, too.
If you just can extrude a simple sketch, then it is some works for you.
Make a design of all the different type couplings that are available, join them together, it will make an interesting project, there are many types of coupling, more than you expect
Why don't you redesign your own model: https://grabcad.com/library/laptop-stand-58 so that it is easier to print without support, maybe has an adjustable tilt angle, give it different looks, minimize material use, design it in particular styles: old fashioned/modern/for children/for star wars fans/... etc.
The options are infinite and it is essential for a good designer to be able to conceptualize many different versions of one item for different audiences.
A new one I've just finished. Not for printing but good for a bit of modeling practice >> https://i.imgur.com/Dld0UDQ.png
Video . . . if you get stuck :)
that sounds interesting i might actually try that out, thank you : )
wow, thank you so much im going to do that now. gives a lot to do for a while
like a skill tester. i like it ill probably put this one on hold but i want to try it out eventually, thank you.
I also model for a hobby, I mainly design supercars, and I've recently gone back to 'refresh' my old designs with a new take. You could try to do the same, it really puts into perspective how far you came as a designer.
I always have something to design, just parts i would want to fabricate... I stat with simple hand sketch of the part(s) with notes/journal of my design thoughts.
I'm Interested. if u sign me in

Look around you home find that thing that every time you use it makes you think "there got to be better way of doing it", for example why is it such a pain to replace toilet paper, model the TP holder, find a solution and model it, do the whole 9 yards, assemblies , drawings presentation images ect..
also you can look up some design ideas on thingiverse see if you can improve them
