I could do the dice with 4 Features (3, if we use 3D Sketch. but that much work is not worth it.) However, I am bloody stuck with the first challenge. I know somewhere within me I can solve it but it is not clicking. I give up on that for now.
Thanks for sharing these Fred. Can you PM me the result. I have SW 2016 but.
Ok. Basic features as mentioned by Lukas. It is not so beautiful because it has no dimensions.
That was a good puzzle. I went the wrong way a few times, but figured it out in the end. Good thing too, I told myself "no ice cream until the puzzle is solved".
I missed the "basic features" hint, and ended up doing something a little more complex. There are at least two methods to solve this with only two features.
Now with the BIG challenge...
This model has been designed using only one feature !
Dimensions aren't that important, but will improve the looks...
Model's Radius = 5 cm
Circle's Radius = 0.5 cm
No. of loops = 15 loops
Good luck
It is a little tricky to make sure it is set up correctly. My first attempt was deformed.
Great Job...
Haha that should have motivated you quickly. ;)
Great Job
Could you attach them in the same image ratio (without zooming in)?
Dimension are not that important. Although, I will upload it later as I am not in vicinity of accessing software. ;)
I think it would be easier to get it right if the given views are named (i.e. right, or front. or top), but here is one possible solution, there are many possible results though.
It will also depend if first or third angle projection is used.
A new puzzle for your enjoyment.
Dimensions do not matter.
This is three features. Good luck.
This one is smart. You chose the back view.
Let me out again proper views with side by side windows. That would help.
My model for the first challenge:
It has three steps in the feature tree and I used a tool that was introduced in SW2013, but Solidworks Feature Statistics regards sketches as features and tells me I have used 5 features in all!
This is tough :(. I tried using sweep but having hard luck :/ So, I guess pattern should be the solution!!! I will try working.
If you look closely, the part has a wall between the horizontal halfpipe and the vertical halfs.
But you are right, the part you made is easy :)
Good work Steen,
I think we've come to the agreement that "feature count" is based on the count of top level features in the feature tree. If you can get features like sketches to be absorbed by another larger feature, then only the larger feature counts.
Putting items into a folder, then calling it a feature does not count.
This one was fun :)
You're right. If I had to think a lot on it I probably wouldn't miss 2 pieces out of 25. :)
This one is really good. I was just fed up of arranging it for better dimension but yes although ugly, it is done.
I liked the previous one better.
Those aren't considered 3 features...
Those are:

░█░ ░█░
