Hi guys, I´m tried to do a cam programming of surface something like the next image, but I need some information to use 3D MILL operations, I tried to use Z level, but in the part of finish the model, the ball mill don´t follow the horizontal direction

anyone can help me?

hi, you must use parallel finish or any surfacing commands for this kind of surface Z level is a kind of wall finish also command images are good guiding for types of operations. I do not recommend you to use Solidworks CAM because it was beta and I don't know if they developed it but your correct command is in 2.5 axis milling operation then choose face mill in operation tab then you must set up your step to the side. for surfacing, I suggest doing it 0.1-0.2 mm would be a good value.

According to my prospective it will be very smoothly finish machining using powermill software, it is very effective for cam works.
