Why does Solidworks 2018 lose the mates in an assembly
This has happened twice and it's annoying.
I have a small assembly with about 30 parts in it, a simple gearbox.
When I saved it last it was all OK no errors or problems. I made some small edits on the casing and when I opened up the assembly it has lost all the mates, they are there under mates list, but not on the parts. This is the second time this has happened to me. See screen shot of error.
Does anybody have any idea why this is happening?

If you are toggling between two configurations in the model, then you may need to uncheck the Suppress new features and mates. I have had this happen before, where your mates get suppressed between two different configs. They show up, but are grayed out (suppressed). see attached
