how to make a lathe bed and carriage in solidworks ?
i want simple steps to begin with

For such big assemblies you need to have dimensions first. It's not that easy to start with just image files if you are a novice. You can find some of the 2D Drawing plans from machine design books.

Just for a simple start you can make the profile as in the image and extrude it for the lathe bed.
