R8 is the radius when it is shown without distortion - the axis is perpendicular to the sheet plane
True R8 is the radius when shown with distortion on the drawing - the axis is not perpendicular to the sheet plane, the radius appears elliptical on the drawing
SR8 is a radius for a spherical face (e. g. a ball)
