Lumion render supported import formats:
- 3D models: DAE, FBX, MAX, 3DS, OBJ, DWG, DXF
In Solidworks convert your files.
Or just use keyshot 3 - great render for Solidworks.

thank you

I am facing the same problem here.
Keyshot is a nice rendering tool, however not for every situation. Lumion is very powerful for creating scenes of landscapes. Even seas and water are very realistic. And also I do not think there is a faster and more user friendly program to do it with to this date!

I did succeed in exporting a ACIS (*.sat) file from SolidWorks to AutoCAD (2010). There save it as a DWG (containing 3D solids, not possible in SolidWorks). Then import that DWG in Lumion.

Disadvantage is that you need a) AutoCAD and b) if you want to add different materials/colors to an object you have to export/import that as a separate DWG.

For example, when you import a bicycle in Lumion with this solution, tires, frame and chromework have to be imported separately (as separate files) in order to get good results.

From a customer I got a tip about this product: http://www.simlab-soft.com/
Quite cheap and enables you to import SW assemblies, and export them to Lumion in one go, including used SW colors!
