Ho do I create a pocket at a angle

Hi you can create a reference plane at the correct angle and extrude the hole up to the plane to create the cut at the desired angle. See tutorial...

  1. Step 1:

Say you have your part and you want to extrude a slot into it at a 25 degree angle..

  2. Step 2:

Create a line on the top surface at the desired distance from the edge where the slot cut needs to meet the surface. You will use this to create your reference plane...

  3. Step 3:

The use the reference geometry feature to create a reference plane. The first reference used in the feature will be your plane parallel to the top surface, in this case the top plane, the second reference will be the line you created. make sure to select the angle tab in your first reference section and set the angle to 25 degrees(or desired angle)...

  4. Step 4:

Now you have your plane at the correct angle at which the cut needs to be through your model. Now draw on the top surface of the part the profile of the cut with the correct dimensions. The edge of your sketch needs to be coincident/tangent to the line you created where the edge of the cut will be on the top surface...

  5. Step 5:

Now choose the cut extrude feature and extrude your profile. select the up to surface option in the drop down menu in stead of blind. Now it will ask you for a reference face or plane(surface). Select the reference plane you just created at the angle. In this case Plane 1. It will then only extrude the cut along this plane...

  6. Step 6:

Now you have a cut/ pocket at the desired angle in your part...
