How make worm at SolidWorks

Using Helix command Worm creating become very simple.

1. Step 1:

   Step 1
   Select Front plane

   

2. Step 2:

   Step 2
   We start sketching at Front plane worm profile. Dimension depends on purpose of the worm.

   

3. Step 3:

   Step 3
   Revolve worm profile.

   

4. Step 4:

   Step 4
   Add new plane from worm profile 20mm.

   

5. Step 5:

   Step 5
   Create circle and select Helix/Spiral. Enter values as set on screen. Press OK.

   

6. Step 6:

   Step 6
   At front plane make sketch of worm profile teeth. Teeth copy lathe bit profile.

   

7. Step 7:

   Step 7
   Select Sweep Cut.

   

8. Step 8:

   Step 8
   Result. Add Chamfer or Fillets. Add Material
