How to create a spring with surface

This is a spring tutorial with surface

1. Step 1:

   Select the front plane,and draw a vertical line according to picture and close the sketch
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Now open the front plane and draw a line at the length of the radius of helix
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Select the sweep surface,and set the horizontal line as the profile, and the vertical line as the path (set option according to picture) and then close the sketch
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Now open the 3D sketch, and used convert entities on the edge according to picture
   

   

5. Step 5:

   You can see the 3D sketch on the edge according to picture,now close the sketch
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Go to Insert > Reference Geometry > Plane or click at the Plane icon

   Select the Endpoint of the Spline as First Reference

   Select the Spline itself as Second Reference

   Click OK
   

   

7. Step 7:

   Select the new Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch according to picture
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Now open the sweep and select the circle sketch as the profile, and the 3dsketch as the path (notice to picture)
   

   

9. Step 9:
