Step by step

1. Step 1:

   Create a 2D sketch on a plane
   Create a body
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Create a work plane
   Create a 2D sketch on this plane
   Draw what you want but this curve will be the path of your slot - hopefully

   

3. Step 3:

   Create work plane
   Create a 2D sketch on this plane
   Draw what you want - this closed loop will be the profile of slot
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Create a feature with sweep
   

   

5. Step 5:

   Share that sketch what you used before
   Create a feature with revolve (cut)
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Create a 2D sketch on the other planar face
   (You have to prepare that projected geometry)
   Revolve (cut)
   

   

7. Step 7:

   finish
