How to save your animations as GIFs in SolidWorks

Do you want to know how to make GIFs of your animations? Ever asked yourself how they did it?
Here I'll show you how to make seamless GIFs from your animations using SolidWorks, as well as PhotoScape...

I chose PhotoScape as it has decent results, doesn't cause any bumping & - most important - is for free.
You can download the latest version from here:

  1. Step 1: Save the animation

After making your animation, click on Save Animation.

  2. Step 2: Adjust the Settings

If you want your GIF to be rendered, choose PhotoView 360 as your renderer.

Under Save as type, choose Series of Windows Bitmaps.

Now edit the Frames per second, Image Size, etc. as you'd like, then click save.

  3. Step 3: Save the GIF

Now open PhotoScape, then choose Animated GIF.

Now open the images you've saved and import them as frames either by Drag & Drop or by Browsing for them on the left side.

Now edit the display time, add effects, resize your GIF, etc. then save.

You should end up with something like this:
