How to use "SustainabilityXpress" in Solidworks?

  1. Step 1:

    Activate the "SustainabilityXpress" through Add-in's or through tools tab.

  2. Step 2:

    you will get the Sustainability tab on the right side
    and if the dashboard(i.e the lower right part showing the pie charts) is not visible then select the on a region to get them.

  3. Step 3:

    now click on the "Base Line" option
    this will create a base line based upon the part that is opened.

  4. Step 4:

    based upon the part solidworks selected the manufacturing process and material by which the part will be made we can change the both of them.
    here the default process is "die cast".

  5. Step 5:

    you can also change the place where this part will be manufactured and it will be used by just clicking on the region

  6. Step 6:

    if you want to change the material or find similar materials then click on "Find Similar" and change the conditions and click on "find similar" in the dialog box.

  7. Step 7:

    you get the similar materials and select one with which you want to run the Xpress and then click accept.

  8. Step 8:

    the materials you choose will change the manufacturing process
    And the process you choose will also change the sustainability of the of the product.

  9. Step 9:

    click on the report button to get the report of the sustainability process.

  10. Step 10:

    the report will be created in word document.
