NX 10 Sketch Derived Lines(Creating an Offset Line Parallel at a Distance) Lesson 1.1

Offset a sketch line, edge or curve a constant distance.
Create a bisected line between two non-parallel lines.
Create a parallel line halfway between two parallel lines.

  1. Step 1:

    Select Home tab > Curve group > Curve gallery > Derived Lines. The cursor changes to a derived line cursor.

  2. Step 2:

    While in an active sketch pick a line in the Graphics window, the floating box displays. A duplicate preview line attached to the cursor displays.

  3. Step 3:

    Input the desired offset distance in the floating box and press ENTER to create the line.

  4. Step 4:

    Or move the cursor to the new location in the Graphics window and pick to create the offset line. Note that the Graphics window text box displays the current offset distance based on the cursor position. If needed, continue to create offset lines.

  5. Step 5:

    Click the middle mouse button to end the command.
