Time Saving Tricks Using Sketches Part 3

Copy / Paste: Use this just like you would any other copy/paste function in Windows. To copy and paste a sketch in SOLIDWORKS just preselect the sketch then hit copy and then choose the face or plane to locate the copy and then hit paste to add it.

  1. Step 1:

    Access your Cut, Copy and Paste feature by going to Edit on your toolbar.



  2. Step 2:

    Choose the plane to locate the copy and click Paste. Easy as that. Just like tool in Windows.


    This isn’t a linked copy where the dimensions are synced like a derived sketch, this simply adds a non-parametric copy of the sketch.
