Tutorial : How to add images [Decals] to a 3D model to make realistic renders ?

Sorry for the delay in uploading the answer. Had problems with the site  I've given a very detailed view so that even beginners can do this with ease 

  1. Step 1:

I use an iPhone to elaborate this procedure.

  2. Step 2:

In order to restrict the image to a certain portion of the flat screen, we must first separate a surface using the ' split line ' command. We start by drawing the profile of the required surface.

  3. Step 3:

The split line command can be found at Insert> Curve> Split Line.

  4. Step 4:

Select the face that must be separated.

  5. Step 5:

    A partition is created.

  6. Step 6:

To perform rendering and to add decals, open the Photoworks Add-on by going to Tools> Add-Ins and then select Photoworks. If you click the left checkbox photoworks will load but will now load at startup. If you are a frequent user of photoworks, click the right checkbox which loads photoworks each time you open Solidworks !

  7. Step 7:

Now that Photoworks is loaded, go to the Command Manager>Office Products and select New Decal !

  8. Step 8:

Browse the image you wish to add to the render. Save the image also as this creates the required format.

  9. Step 9:

Adjust the image using the drag points to fit the image as required. Now it maybe noted that since we have split the face, upon selection of that face alone no matter how much the image is expanded it does now exceed that area.

  10. Step 10:

Finally use the render to file option in the Command Manager to get your rendered image.
