Hi . I am using a free version of Fusion and need to copnvert drawings to something I can use like dwg or dfx.
any clues or is it useless unless i pay for a full version. I am a hobyist and just cant justufy the cost.
Sure I can help as matter of fact I can do it for you message me for more details
Hi Hans. Thanks for the offer.
I would like a way to do it myself. the free version wont do it and I was hoping there was some way around it
I am a hobyist and paying for a full CAD is simply out of the question
If you use free version you first need to convert detail to sheet meatal and after that you can convert or save as dxf
Or you gust can start sketch like sheet metal part and for example make it 3D wit h thickness 0.1mm and after that convert it to dxf
I am not totally clear what type of parts you need to export but details found at this link may help as a starting point. The blog offer four possibilities https://sendcutsend.com/blog/4-ways-to-export-a-dxf-from-fusion-360/
You are able to create DXF files from the free version but the blog explains where the limitations are i.e. not able to export a drawing sheet to DXF.
Hope this helps
Gina, You might be able to download a DXF from the web details for your project. I know a while back when I was using free version, I had more download options from there than from the software. Click on your Version button, then View Details on Web. On upper right-hand side of webpage there is an export button.
thanks so much for all the helpful responses. I am getting there. My first priority is to master sheet metal.
Doing bends and so on is proving to be a bit of a learning curve

Maybe this plugin can work (free for 15 days).
