I was trying to design a construction helmet in generative shape design catia v5 , so there I made a half part of dome by using a multisection surface and the I use symmetry option for the other half . But while doing this there, a seperation line or bent is occurred so I don't know how to clear it and make it smooth , please help me for this.
No, but thanks for this .I will do.
I tried but I don't know how to do please could you explain it
Sorry but it's a basic task with generative shape design, search the catia doc how to do that.
(I thought one of the purposes of this group is to help other users)
Before we can tell you how to do it, you have to tell us how you made the first half.
so I just saw you asked for help in the Question section also....
You said you made the first half with the Multi-Section Surface command.
To add the tangency:
Edit the Multi-Section Surface, and highlight the section that lies in the mirroring plane. Choose the Tangent option, and select the mirroring plane. Then you can OK the modified surface.
(doing the above steps will make the direction of the surface perpendicular to the plane, which will also make it continuous in tangency when it is joined with it's mirrored counterpart)
I already explained above that I used multi section for half then symmetry
yes you did! I apologize.
Thank you so much .....and sorry for my first reply
Thank you so much .....and sorry for my first reply
you have nothing to apologize for - it was I who was too quick to respond without checking
before making the multi-section feature, create extrude surface in the middle line , then when you use multi-section choose that surface as support and make tangent constrain.
i hope this can help you.
it usually depends on your strategy to creat the multisection suface...
but i can give you a better way to create the half surface... and that is to use SWEEP tool...
first yo creat such a arc in xz plane
then the guide of your helmet in yz plane
and use WITH REFERENCE SURFACE option in SWEEP then select the two curve!
booooo now you have created the half that it has no seperation line after mirroring! :)
but consider that... your first curve must be perpandecular to the yz plane... so for doing this, you can use an axis to be tangent to curve and perpandecular to yz plane...
hope you can do this ;)
