I never claimed to know I I just pointed out the obvious error. But since you ask I'll give it a go.1/ Change in battery make up from Lit...
Comments to your response :
1/ agreed !! - this is the holy grail of the planet to get beyond a (low cost) magnitude of storage capacity for small cells such a person could charge their cell phone or laptop for a week, and cars would need 1/10 the amount of batteries -or- they could travel longer without a charge if there were more 10x batteries.
2/ variable magnetic , variable reluctance, axial flux vs radial flux, permanent magnet types using rare earth minerals are all here. The question of *how much* better they can get (torque vs energy) is the magic key here and just like ICE engines took decades to improve, i think that it will likely take a couple of decades to get there. Also emerging materials and meta-materials may help here.
3/ I *whole-heatedly* agree !!! HOWEVER this is in direct opposition of what the utility companies want and what the governments want since the corporations make profits and the governments tax the usage. Energy Independence is AWESOME for the individual, but the forces-that-be DO NOT want this and will do everything to stop or delay this. - - - I watched the solar industry destroyed by regulation, taxation, import control, permit fees, bloated installation costs, and so many other sellers, resellers, and installers rip off people. The only way this will ever happen is for a very savvy technical homeowner do it themselves and avoid intervention (if possible).
4/ Personally i see the Hydrogen / Solar / Electric Storage mix as the best winning combination for heating/electric generation for a homeowner -WITHOUT utility companies involved. But that is a dream vision that i am sure few will ever achieve.
