Since when did GrabCad became a dumpsite for company based material??? These models, that are packed with company markings (websiteadres and company library nrs, etc) are "dumped" in the GrabCad library, without a proper modeldescription and a proper rendering. No explanation about the model, just a company based article nr...I believe there is a clear statement in the GrabCad guidelines and rules, about the facts I mentioned...so why doesn't GrabCad enforce the rules they set???

Just have a look at the uploaded material from this member...31 company library based models in 12 days....and what is SAD!!! This members "erned" a badge "uploaded master"....I believe the system that hands out badges, is an automated system, but stil......
I understand what you mean. Of course it'd be always nicer to have more information in models, but I couldn't find how this is against the Community Guidelines (https://help.grabcad.com/article/149-community-values-and-guidelines)
1
Navigate to the Model Library page, and then click the red ‘+ Upload' button found in the top-right corner of the page.
2
Drag and drop your files and folders into the outlined box or click 'Select files' or 'Select folders' to add files with your file browser. Be sure to add your native CAD files along with a neutral version, to be the most helpful.
Enter the 'Project details' into the corresponding fields:
SO.....No model description present other than a company based library number...But if GrabCad believes these models are according the rules.....SO BE IT!!!! (doesn't help though, to keep this an interesting place to watch and visit....)
“Do not take credit for work that isn’t yours. We want to see your work showcased on GrabCAD, but posting any work that isn’t yours will result in an immediate removal of the model from GrabCAD.”
or
“Do not solicit or market for a private business or website. It’s tempting to want to use GrabCAD as a platform to advertise for your business, but it is against our guidelines to do so.“
These are obviously downloaded from the manufacturers website. The user name is the corporation name. They even use the corporate logo. So either this is an individual uploading corporate generated models or it is corporation essentially presenting advertising information.
[Correction] After some investigation, this corporation is using GrabCAD as an extension of their website. Their website downloads page links directly to these models in the GrabCAD library.
Yasin (GC staff) believes everything is in order....I can't agree with him....."and so this ship is going under.....still afloat, but don't know for how long"....Even a blind horse can see that the images, as I have attached, originate from a company based library...What more can we do, than to point it out to GrabCad......Lets hope there is somebody still awake.....
Interesting: Their website downloads page links directly to the GrabCAD library when you click on an item:

Not all items have a link. Which I conclude means they plan on uploading their entire catalog to GrabCAD.
I suppose this practice in itself doesn't specifically break any GrabCAD guidelines. Although by linking websites, GrabCAD is essentially being used for commercial purposes. The commercial use of the models (which seems to be the intent) would require contacting the corporate user for permission. Wonder if they plan on responding to all requests.
Hello friends, we are putting our models on the grabcad platform because more than 90% of our customers have an account on this platform.
In addition, there are several designs in this transmission branch for the machinery industry that use our models as a reference to create their own transmission models for machines.
We do not intend to use grabcad for advertising and marketing purposes. Please note that in the description we do not include any information about our website or the model. However, we put the information inside the CAD model because all our models are registered internationally.
Please, if I am breaking any rule of the platform, let us know in detail so that I can correct it. Thanks.
Here in Brazil, Grabcad is widely used for this purpose. I have a list of companies that make their models available in the same way.
If this is wrong, please guide me how to correct it.
I believe that models should be from own hands.....that is the purpose of this website....Just guys who make something......It's not not a dumpsite for company made models..
This community is for "amateur" engineers, designers, modelers, technicians, etc, who want to share their OWN work.....Not for companies who use this website for dumping their models...One of the (main) rules from GrabCad is that models should be from own hands and do not have a commercial background....
Given the information presented I believe it is up to the admins to make the final determination on what is appropriate.
Is it appropriate for a corporation to use GrabCAD as their repository of CAD models for commercial purposes?
Yeah, this is what ultimately drove me off Sketchup's 3D Warehouse... Companies dumping 100's of models a day, making it hard to find anything new...
