GrabCAD Community User Group

It seems obvious that this is a group of users who have agreed to give each other candy in whatever they post. As if you had 10, 20 or 50 friends to whom you say: give me a like every time I upload anything (and some exaggerate by adding flattering comments) and I will return the favor when you upload something... whatever you upload . Result: every time a model is uploaded by someone in the group, he is guaranteed 10, 20 or 50 likes from it.

Exactly what is happening.....Unfortunately GC let this go on and on....a shame to see grown ups behave like little children....(liking each others uploads, dedication models to "dear friends", decorating models with childish thumbs up and other images, talking about "greatness"..unfortunately this behavior renders GrabCad to a second rate 3d website. GC used to be a serious 3D website with qualitywork popping up....a shame it is not anymore....Kids from all ages have taken over......

another nice example...Does this model deserve 11 likes?? Far beter models have only a few likes.....something is going very wrong with the ranking system...

Another nice example...in a few days this bed 61 (uptonow the count is 64 beds....unbelieveble...64 beds!!!!, packed with duplicated work and work taken from the one of other 3D websites without a notification, as described in the GC rules), but not one bed is being removed by GC..why not??) In a few days this bed (and many others) received 11 likes from the vast group of diciples...."manipulation" of the system at its best....

I'd just like to point out that his is the only account I see where he gets likes before he has even one download. The fix is clearly in on this account.

True diciples and dear friends, don't need to download a model in order to see the "greatness" from the "master"...(not my words, but from one of the diciples) So when they see a new model, (they instantly hit the like button, (even when it is duplicated and packed with work from others) .....and new models appear frequently (6,7,8 and more per day)

Quality over Quantity...

These "engineers" that have come up with a scheme of generating likes that puts them at the top of the GrabCAD ranking have received their only reward. It's obvious they have no marketable skills. I certainly don't envy them. In fact I feel sorry for them. This is as good as it gets for them.

I certainly would not want my only claim to fame to be ill-gotten likes on a free website. What a wasted life.

Perhaps GrabCad should do something about this and stop this manipulation of their ranking system...

Yeah, I have one model I made, It's been downloaded 1850+ times, and has received about 50 likes. It doesn't really matter to me, but it seems like if you're going to download someone's models, you should either leave a comment about what you don't like about it, or leave a thumbs-up.

It is a despicable attitude: taking advantage of a colleague's work and "not having the time or desire" to put a like or, otherwise, a constructive comment! They act similar to a thief who takes what he wants and doesn't say "hello, goodbye or thank you."
