Why accepting an answer does not grant points?
When the answer to a question is accepted but without adding an "upvote" (which is very frequent!) it does not generate any score for the answerer. I think "accepting an answer" should score, even higher than a simple "upvote" (which may or may not exist, and doesn't necessarily reflect the usefulness of an answer).
